Traveling with small children can be challenging. The long flights, crowded streets and sometimes kid-unfriendly accommodation options can make a family vacation too stressful. But traveling as a family can actually be incredibly rewarding. It’s a great chance to bond as a family, make unique memories and allow children to broaden their horizons by getting to know a new place and culture. So if you’re planning a family trip right now, here are the best places to take your kids while they’re young:

Disneyland Parks

Of course the Disneyland parks and resorts had to be at the top of this list. Children continue to love the Disney classics and there aren’t many places around the world where they can see their favorite cartoon characters come to life. Except at the Disneyland parks. You’ll find one in almost every corner of the world and the fun moments you’ll share with your kids will be memories to last a lifetime.

Kruger National Park

Who says the kids are too young for an African safari? If your family is more adventurous, Kruger National Park in South Africa is the perfect place for your little monsters to meet the world’s wildest creatures. If staying inside the park is too expensive, there are plenty of affordable and friendly-family houses, apartments and hotels in the park’s vicinity. And with the excellent road infrastructure within the park, you can choose to participate in a guided safari or venture off in your own four-wheeler through the wild!

Denmark

Sure, it’s not the cheapest country in Europe but you could argue Denmark was pretty much built for children. Amusement parks include the fairytale-themed Tivoli in Copenhagen and Legoland just outside of Billund. Plus, the country is filled with incredible historical sites and monuments ready for your family to discover them.

Belize

Belize has the best of both worlds: white sand tropical beaches (perfect for a relaxing family vacation) and some incredible outdoors activities (ideal for the thrill-seeking families). Affordable beach cabanas and a vast local knowledge of English simply make it that much easier for you to say yes to Belize.

Thailand

Thailand’s dreamy beaches, delicious food and fascinating religious and historical monuments will leave your kids speechless. But what makes this country one of the best for family vacations is its kid-friendly atmosphere. Thais go ga-ga over children and they’ll be a great ice breaker between tuk-tuk drivers and street food vendors.

Yosemite National Park

Lovers of the outdoors will fall in love with Yosemite National Park. And the best part is the park is super family-friendly, providing tons of activities for children and adults alike. Whether you’re into hiking, mountain climbing, or rafting – you can do it all as a family at Yosemite. Plus, it’s one of the most easily accessible national parks in the U.S. located just a few hours away from San Francisco.

Barcelona

Barcelona has a magical quality to it – probably thanks to the creative artists who have helped to make it the fascinating city that it is. Visit La Sagrada Familia (Gaudí’s famous basilica) and spend your days walking through the city’s many quarters. If the kids get a tired of the city landscape after a while (although it’s hard to imagine that they would) head to Barceloneta Beach to enjoy the sun.
