It was back in the 1970 when the Mexican government decided to start developing Cancún into a tourist destination. Since then, it has continued to grow each and every single year. There is just so much to see and do when you choose to visit this tropical city.

Cancún is actually an island and a city. The island is a sandbar that is 15 miles long and is located just off from the Yucatan peninsula in the Caribbean Sea. You will find most of the resorts and hotels located in this area. However, if you are looking for the budget lodgings, then you have to go to the mainland in the downtown area to find them.
There are countless beaches in Cancún which feature sparkling white sand and crystal clear water. There is water skiing and paragliding and so many other great things to do along the beaches.

However if you plan on partying until you drop, then you have to make your way into the downtown area where all of the bars, restraints, and clubs are located at. You do not have to be a college student to truly enjoy Cancun, all you need to be is just a kid at heart.
Cancún has so much to offer you, and while there may not be a lot of cultural heritage sites in the area, as for having fun, relaxing or partying all day and night long, nothing beats this Mexican city in the along the Caribbean Sea.
