The village of Cerovlje also includes the surrounding municipality and composed of several other smaller villages. It can be found along the northern most border of the Istrian peninsula.

Within the area, you will find the ruins of countless towns and castles that have been erected and destroyed over the centuries.

Like most of the Istrian peninsula, the first inhabitants of the era can be dated back to prehistoric times with the first settlers in the area dated to the Bronze Age.
