The City of Bath is known as a place that the Romans considered a thermal spa. It became a place that was very important to the surrounding industry during the Middle Ages. The city was under the development of George III during the 18th century and he turned it into a place of high class and elegance. The buildings were made with a neoclassical theme in mind. This theme blended in quite well with the Roman baths.
The remains of the city and the baths are known to be a very famous and important part of history. The Roman remains can be found north of the Alps and they were known to mark the beginning of the Baths’ history. The baths have given a nickname to the town; it is known as Spa Town.

Through the architecture you will see the true ambition of those that built different areas of the City of Bath. Within the town you will notice the reflections of the Palladio and the organization of the spaces of the buildings. In the case of the Palladio ideas, you can give credit to architects Robert Adam, John Woods, John Palmer, and Thomas Baldwin. These men are all responsible for the Palladio architecture.
All across baths, you will find many terraces, Palladian crescents, and squares which extend across the green hills and valleys. They show the excellence and the hard work that was put into the hard work of structuring in the area. The landscape merges in well with the architectural designs that were proposed there. Some of the design is considered to be much of an urban type of style. You will notice the beauty and architecture of some of the finest buildings in the town such as the Pump Room and the Assembly Rooms. These buildings make up a large part of the architecture in their particular area of town. Many of the buildings there have evolved over time to keep them looking quite classical and up to date for each century that has passed.
The architecture and the urban designs in Baths are certainly amongst the most unique patterns and designs seen throughout history, and although some of it has evolved with new renovation ideas; much of the originality of the buildings remain. The hard-working skill performed by the architects definitely shows and when people visit Baths it is much appreciated by many. Many of these architects worked for over a century with no specific plan in mind of how the design would turn out.
