The Spanish Costa Dorada is a coastline stretch located along Tarragon province on the eastern part of Spain. Costa Dorada means golden coast and it is also called Costa Daurada by others. It is a popular coast in Spain owing to its vast golden and beautiful sandy beaches lined up with the wonderful pine trees, surrounded by crystal clear sea waters and Roman ruins of silhouette that covers the region.

Costa Dorada is a beautiful destination for your holiday vacations. Some of the notable resorts in the coast include the Cambrils, Salou, La Pineda, Sitges and Mont-roig del Camp. La Pineda, Cambrils and Salou form a wonderful triangle that acts as a hot tourist spot in Costa Dorada.

Cathedral of Tarragona, Spain

Tarragona is essentially the most beautiful city around here with its rich historical background, museums, lovely beaches, Salou and Reus towns and wonderful architecture. The city was founded in the early years of 3rd century BC as the first Roman city in the mainland of Spain. The city is also regarded as a UNESCO world heritage city in Spain explaining why it is a hot tourist city. The city is located on a mountain that overlooks Mediterranean Sea through Francoli River.
There are many interesting places in Costa Dorada including the Salou beaches, the Port Ventura universal theme park, historical monuments in Tarragona, Santes creus, the Poblet monasteries, the Centecelles mosaics. Escaladei ruins, Scopio’s trower and Ebro river delta nature park. Other attractions include the La Pineda Aquopolis Aquatic Park, the Albinyana Aqualeon Aquatic Park among other notable attractions.

The climate of Costa Dorada coupled with the beautiful nature offers one of the best platforms for water and outdoor sporting activities in Costa Dorada. Most of the popular sports are essentially found along the coasts and include windsurfing, water skiing, surfing, canoeing, scuba diving as well as jet skiing that are available in most water sports centres around the region.

Shopping in Costa Dorada offers a great experience and most of towns here practice pottery as a deep rooted tradition. In addition to pottery, visitors to the region can also buy some ceramics sold in Benissanet, Ginestar, El Vendrell. La Selva del Camp, Torredembarra and Tivenys. There are also wineskins sourced from goatskin, the wicker or palmetto made baskets and embroidery among other favorite shopping objects sold in Costa Dorada. The region also experiences a wonderful climate consisting of hot summers and mid winters with about 300 sunshine days and average annual temperatures of 18 C.
