Floors castle is the largest inhabited castle that is in Scotland. It is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe. It is right in the middle of the borders of Scotland, and from the castle there is a great view of the Tweed and Cheviot hills.

The castle was designed by Duke of Roxburghe and the construction of the castle started during the year of 1721. In the castle many visitors get to observe the European and Chinese porcelain along with some other nifty pieces of ancient are. The art is also surrounded by photographs of all of the family that has lived in the castle. The gardens of the Floors Castle are simply beautiful and they add a complete yet elegant touch to the surrounding areas of the castle.

As you tour this castle you will see and feel like at home; it is a perfect place for a family to tour because it is a very family friendly atmosphere. The garden that is amidst has some herbaceous borders which can be found running along the wooden walk way. In the case that you would have children coming along with you, you’d be happy to know that there is a playground in the picnic area. There is plenty of space for children to run free and have a great time!

If you are a coffee lover then you are certain to appreciate the coffee shop that is available; located in the Walled Gardens. There is also a restaurant that is located right across the way from the castle.

Floors Castle is open daily from early May to end of October. Basic adult admission to the castle and gardens is £8; children pay a half.
