Sir Christopher Wren destroyed the Tudor and built the Hampton Court Palace in the place of it during the year of 1689. It was custom built for King William III and Queen Mary II.
However, in 1760 the palace became the home of George III when he became King this year; he later abandoned it as his royal residence.
It still remains a great place for people to come and learn about the history of the palace and admire the wonderful architecture of the place.
