Oslo is the capital city of Norway, and it is famous for its rigid temperatures and nordic atmosphere. If you have the chance to go there, you must absolutely try the Magic Ice Bar: a bar completely built into ice! You will really have an unforgettable experience!

The Magic Ice Bar is located in the busy area of downtown Oslo, near the Grand Hotel and Hotel Bristol. It is very easy to find, and is reported in all the touristic maps that you can find around the city. Generally, it is just a tourist oriented place, and local people prefers to go to normal bars on their nights out.

Magic Bar Oslo is open Monday to Thursday from 11am to 11pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to midnight, and Sundays from 11am to 11pm.

THE OFFER

Entering the place you will find a warming staff welcoming you, and providing you with a special coat and gloves before entering the ice room. The entrance fee is around 17 Euros, and it includes a welcome drink that can be alcoholic or non alcoholic. You can also have other kind of drinks, but then you have to pay extra.

When you enter the ice room you find yourself in a completely ice decorated location, at minus 5°Celsius. The walls are all in ice, and all around the space there are sculptures and incisions reminding to Munch’s work ( Munch is the most famous artist in Norway, author of The Scream). The room is furnished with ice tables and benches, covered by fur cushions.

You can take as many pictures as you want and sit comfortably while drinking your welcome cocktails from iced glasses. Generally people stays in the bar for maximum 30 minutes, due to the very low temperature. When you exit, after giving back gloves and coat to the staff, you have a little souvenir shop waiting for you.
