Life happens. There is never a perfect time for anything. Whether you are taking about going back to school, changing jobs, getting married or having a baby, there will be always be some obstacle. Of course, this is true of travelling as well. There is always something that stops today from being the “perfect time” and there always will be. One of the best lessons that you can learn in life is that there is never going to be a perfect time. There is simply no such thing. If you want to do something, do it!

Take charge!

If you want to make the most out of every day, you need to realise that you are in control of your life. Take charge! Create your own opportunities. Make time for what is truly important to you. You will waste a whole lot of time if you just keep waiting for someone to give you an opportunity. Ask yourself what you really want out of life. If travel is what is important to you, get out there. Have you adventure. Live it up and never come home if you don’t want to. It is your duty to create your own place for yourself in the world. Forget about all of the things that you “have” to do. Short of eating, sleeping, and breathing, there is nothing that you “have” to do. Just be true to yourself. Do what you want to do.

Make It Happen!

Of course, all of this is easier said than done. If you want to take charge of your life, you need to know how to manage your life. In order to create the “perfect time,” you need to do a lot of planing. It all comes down to a simple process: Dream. Plan. Repeat. To make you dreams a reality, you need to plan out every little detail. Where do you want to go and how can you get there?

Stick to it!

If your dream is to travel around the world for a year, figure out how to make it happen. Can you teach English abroad to pay for your expenses? What type of volunteering are you ready to do in exchange for room and board? Keep searching for a solution that works for you. Stay dedicated. Be open minded. Be ready to cut luxuries at home and abroad. It’s much better to compromise on the little things in life than to compromise on your dreams so stick to it!
