Larnaka is home to the main airport in Cyprus but you can also fly into Paphos in the west of the island. Steeped in history, the town is located a comfortable 10km from the airport. One of the island’s most beautiful and ancient towns, it boasts a history that dates back thousands of years.
The town features a charming fishing harbour and the local restaurants and tavernas are often stocked with the day’s catch. There are some beautiful open air cafes in which you can enjoy a leisurely lunch and enjoy the scenery.

The legend of the Greek goddess Aphrodite was born on the shores of Paphos where, according to legend, she rose from the sea. The town pays tribute to her in many different ways including the Venus Rock and the Baths of Aphrodite.
There are plenty of hotels to choose from in the town and surrounding areas. Perhaps the most popular pick is The Great Alexander Beach Hotel, just a short walk from the harbour and town centre of Paphos. If you’d rather rent an apartment, you won’t be short of choice there either. Self-catering accommodation can be found here which offers more independent stay in the town.
Diving is a popular holiday pursuit in Paphos and there are many diving schools ready to train you up for the day. If you’re not feeling quite that brave, you could pay a visit to Paphos Aphrodite Waterpark, a well-stocked fun park that adults and kids alike will love.
