The most important thing for every Pattaya visitor to know is: Where’s the party? Pattaya is a true city of nightlife and you’re never far from the action. From cabaret shows to international DJs to gogo bars, the party never ends in Pattaya.
Here are a few things you’ve got to do in Pattaya to truly experience all that this amazing city has to offer.
Wandering Walking Street
It’s only half a kilometre long but Walking Street is a world unto itself. The not-so-cleverly named street gets its famous title from the fact that no motorised vehicles are allowed there after 18:00 each day. Once the cars are gone, the true heart of Pattaya’s nightlife wakes up.
You hardly need a plan when heading out for Walking Street. You can easily start at the beginning and find something to do for every night of the week by just walking around. While everything is worth a look, some places are better than others. Club Insomnia, which also has a a Bangkok location, is by far the most popular hot spot. Inside, there’s the iBar, where you can shoot some pool and relax seaside or you can dance the night away at the upstairs iClub. If you are looking for a place with fewer- ahem- “working” ladies, head down to the Walking Street Club and drink with the locals.
A Night at the Cabaret
Ready for an old-fashioned style cabaret with a twist? Tiffany Cabaret Show is the oldest show in town and on par with anything that you’ll find on any stage around the world. While it’s probably the most famous ladyboy stage, it’s not the only game in town. You can see a truly amazing sound and light show at the Alangkarn Show or check out the Alcazar Cabaret Show where Thailand’s most famous ladyboy Alcazar has been leading the show for decades.
Taking In the Sunset
If you can start your night early, it’s well worth tracking down the perfect spot to watch the sun go down. FFlic Cliff & Pool ClubFun has some of the best nightlife in town. It’s a new addition to the Phratamnak area and has been an instant success. Lounge in their infinity pool, watch the sunset then dance the night away.
The Horizon Bar at Hilton Pattaya is another first class nightlife hotspot. They have called claim to the highest spot in town and have unparalleled views. Get up the the Horizon Bar on the 34th floor of the Hilton to enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunset. Stick around for drinks and enjoy the view all night long.
Getting Sporty
Ready to take in some world class Thai kickboxing? You’ve got to get to a championship match at Max Muay Thai or Pattaya Boxing World on Sukhumvit Road. You can also get in with the amateur leagues at Fairtex Stadium on Thepprasit Road. If you are feeling truly brave, forget about nightlife. It is all too easy to find a true amateur ring on Walking Street where any crazy tourist can get in and try his hand at fighting.
