Planning on traveling to Russia? This country is by far one of the most exciting countries to visit since it is rich in history, culture and all sorts of architectural structures that bring more beauty to the scenery.
It is however hard for us to cover in one article the wonderful places that Russia reveals for its visitors, but we will indicate some spots that are characteristic to this country that you should visit during summer months (from May to August) otherwise with the winter season you can confront with some difficulties because winter here can be quite hard to take on.

Our advice is to take at least two months of holiday for your travel to Russia, because in this way only you can cover as many interesting and breathtaking sceneries and locations.

On the first place that many tourists do not miss out on is, of course, Moscow. The capital of Russia is among the most popular tourist attractions when traveling to Russia. It presents a lot of historic places, museums, along with gourmet restaurants that you can never have enough of.

Red Square is probably the well known square in the world (among other famous squares, of course) because it offers a beautiful and unique view that can not be compared with other squares.
You can visit it both during day and night and still be fascinated by its impressive design, mostly because here you will get to see the St.Basil’s Cathedral, a unique architectural structure of this iconic Moscow landmark.
It was built in 16th century by Ivan the Terrible and only when you hear this name you come to think how a historic figure carrying this name could give birth to this magnificent building.

Another good idea for your travel to Russia and while still being in Moscow is to visit Tretyakov Gallery, The Bolshoi Theatre, or Kuskovo Estate, among others. These may take some time, but it is definitely worth spending a few more days in Moscow while you are at it.
Saint Petersburg
Saint Petersburg is the city where you can find influences of European culture combined miraculously with features of old Russia.
Aside from this your travel to Russia will be beautifully marked by the sightseeing of Neva River offering to your eyes incredible scenery especially if you choose any of the water crafts to take a cruise alongside the river shores.
Being on board of a cruise ship you have the chance to see the city of Saint Petersburg in a different perception.

Other things that you should do here is to visit:
Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg
Hermitage Museum which is a must see, although, in one day you can barely cover a few halls. For this reason you need at least three days to have the chance to cover as much as possible from this famous museum.
Great art collections are adorning the museum walls and it will take time to thoroughly go through the galleries and have the chance to see them all.
