Those who are in the Brandenberg region near Berlin will want to think about stopping by to see the Schloss Sansccouci. This is a palace which was once inhabited by Frederick the Great who was the King of Prussia, located in Potsdam.

This palace was initially designed by George Wenzeslaus in order to meet the needs of King Frederick so he would have a place to escape during the summer, enjoying his privacy and time away from all others. The Schloss Sanssouci palace was built with a sense of luxury in mind, rather than power or status.

By the 19th century the palace was occupied by Frederick William IV who hired Ludwig Persius to restore the old structure and add on to it as well. Around the time of World War II this palace became a very famous tourist attraction in East Germany. Schloss Sanssouci is still visited by thousands of people each year because of its breathtaking beauty and historical appeal.

This palace has a number of expansive rooms, including the King’s study, the library, the gallery, and the guest rooms. There were also designated rooms for the servants who lived and worked in the palace.

The beautiful architecture of this palace along with its amazing historical aspect make it one of the more popular tourist attractions in this area even today. Over the years this palace has seen various residents and continues to get a steady stream of curious visitors who wish to gaze upon its magnificence in awe.
