Skipton Castle is really amazing well-preserved medieval castle in England that is more than 900 years old. Its visitors have a unique chance to explore all the corners of this impressive and full of history building. Interesting fact is that the castle passed through a siege for 3 years during the Civil War in Medieval Britain.

If you visit it you can see the beautiful banquet room, dining room, apartments and rooms of the monarchs. You can also see the dungeons of the castle, hidden deep in the earth, and then to climb to the top of the observation tower.

Skipton Castle is one of the few well-preserved medieval castles in England and probably in Europe. When you see its gate tower and the charming Tudor courtyard you will feel immediately the unique charm of the amazing castle.

In front of the entrance gate is located large tower which was originally the watch tower – the most important part of the fortifications of the castle. Left of it is the entrance to the interior of the citadel.

The masons carved their initials and symbols on the stones of the entrance and you can see with your own eyes what kind of work they have done and how much they were paid for their labor.
