Stokesay Castle is a well-preserved medieval manor house that was turned into fortress in England.

It is located in a rural area near the border with Wales and the castle with its wooden walkways, towers and church form an unforgettable picturesque view that you can hardly forget.

Lawrence Ludlow, a wealthy local merchant who made a fortune in the sale of wool, bought the property in 1281 when the long Anglo-Welsh war was over.

It was one of the first fortified houses in England and nowadays, the unique castle on the hill with large windows for better lighting during the day will really impress you with its amazing architecture and simplicity.

The North Tower with its medieval tiled floors, fantastically painted walls and sunny apartments, as well as the South Tower with a high staircase, are the most attractive parts of the castle.

The “Sunny” part of the castle is almost unchanged since the Medieval Ages. There you can see incredible fireplace which is richly decorated and painted in five colors.

It was added around 1641 and the wood-carving in the form of charming Adam and Eve will remain in your heart forever.
