The Broads cover an area of 303 square kilometres mostly in the county of Norfolk having 63 broads and seven rivers. The waterways are not shallow they are magnificently navigable.

The Broads have won the status of national park in the British Island and are governed by the Broads Authority. The authority has the right to prove their sole dominance in special navigation in water and conservation of the total area.

In the earlier days the Broads were regarded as the parts of nature but in 1960 Dr Joyce Lambert brought the mystery in bright day light opining that the Broads are nothing but the effect of flooding on peat excavations done in the remote past.
