The Loire Valley is indisputably one of the most beautiful and interesting places in France. Known the world over for its beautiful chateaux, you will find yourself struck repeatedly by the majesty and beauty of the area, as well as the sheer amount of pleasant and enjoyable things to do.
The Loire Valley is known as “the Garden of France”. In towns such as Amboise, Bloise, Chinon, Orléans, Samour and Tours you can’t walk down the street without gazing at the beautiful and historical architecture around you.
The castles, however, are the main delight in this area; Château de Valençay, Châteaux Amboise, Châteaux de Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Chambord, Châteaux du Pin and Chenonceau are all utterly stunning and worth visiting.

The area is a haven for those who enjoy wine. The Loire region produces some of the best in the world. Visit Amboise and Saumur to taste distinctive, fruity, well-rounded still whites, or “Method Traditionel” sparkling wines.
There are a huge number of wineries in the area too; both large companies and small independent wine producers. Most will have their own wine cellars and will offer tours and wine-tasting, with the tasting usually being free and carrying no obligation of purchase.
