Things are changing in Ko Samet. While it was once a backpacking mecca, the island is attracting a bit more diversity these days. Bangkok residences are taking the ferry over and joining tour groups and backpackers on one of Thailand’s most up and coming islands. Home to nightly fire-juggling shows and beach BBQs, there is something for everyone on the gorgeous island of Ko Samet.

Sai Kaew Beach

One of the most popular beaches in Ko Samet, the white sands of Sai Kaew Beach can get crowded but it still remains one of the nicest stretches of sand in the area.

Ao Prao Beach

For a smaller and quieter option, head down to Ao Prao Beach to dip your feet in the crystal clear water.

Ao Kiu Na Nok

For a world class private beach, get to Ao Kiu Na Nok. The stunning beach is part of Samed Island and home to the Paradee resort.

O restaurant

When you have soaked in all of the sun that you can take and have worked up an appetite, head over to O restaurant. The O at Le Vimarn Cottages is relatively expensive compared to many local Thai hotspots, it is still incredibly cheap for what they offer. Enjoy some of the best Italian food around while you chill out in the beautiful atmosphere.

Red Ginger

If your group wants a mix of Thai and European food, get over to Red Ginger for dinner. They have amazing ribs and all of the standard fare that you would expect from a Thai hotspot in Ko Samet.

Vong Deuan Beach

Can’t leave the beach just yet? Spend your evening on Vong Deuan Beach enjoying the amazing BBQ feast. The special of the day is whatever the fisherman for the restaurant caught earlier in the day in the sea just a few feet away.

Beach Bar at Ao Phrao Resort

Need a break from the backpackers? Head to the Beach Bar for one of the best views of the sunset in Ko Samet. There is always a live band with an amazing light show. It’s a laid back atmosphere on a beautiful beach.

Naga Bar

Just south of Diamond Beach, this is another popular spot to go for Thai food and a few drinks. Always a good time, they are open from breakfast until the final drinks are served.

Olly’s Bar

This ultra-hip hostel has one of the best bars in Ko Samet. Stay the night or just stop by for a few drinks and a chat.

Ploy Bar

Want to mix with the locals? Head to Ploy Bar for live music and an ever evolving range of side show games and activities.
