Viana do Castelo, Portugal

Viana do Castelo is a municipality capital, and dates to a pre-Christian era. It can be reached by air, through a flight taken from the airport in Porto, and then continue by train towards the city.

You can also arrive in Porto by bus, and again, take the train to Viana do Castelo. If you own a car, you can drive yourself there, and do note that traffic through the city is smooth and the roads are evidently marked.

Once you’re there, you can get around by a rented vehicle, by bus, bicycle or on foot, and you will be particularly inclined to opt for the pedestrian way of exploring the city as the scenic area of Viana do Costelo is predominantly located in the historic downtown, and that spot can be easily seen on foot, especially since many attractions there are not accessible by car.
