Višnjan is a picturesque town which is located between the Lim fjord and the Mirna River. The magnificent architecture of this ancient Mediterranean city is one of the biggest reasons countless individuals chose to visit Višnjan every single year.

The area surrounding Višnjan has been inhabited since the prehistoric times. There are several old churches in Višnjan that can be dated back to the 17th century as well as the 14th century.

For astronomers, Višnjan offers a unique history as it was once home to an important observatory that was responsible for the discovery of a high number of asteroids.
