Warwick Castle is a place where there was lots of history that took place; this castle was always a very bust one, and today it is still very busy because there are so many different events and activities that happen here. It is one of the most visited castles in Europe with the most activities and events.

The Warwick Castle dates all the way back to 11th centuries ago. There was recently about £6,000,000 spent on the castle within the past 10 years in order to renovate it to improve the quality and the well-being of the structure. By visiting the castle you are helping it to stay up in running and keeping it in good shape. The money spent for the visits are used for the purpose of maintenance and upgrades on the castle.

For promotional and advertisement purposes, Adam Busiakiewicz recently wrote an article on the castle discussing all of the historical artifacts that can be found inside the castle, and the different collection items. This helps to draw interest to the castle.

The Warwick Castle has literally gone through a lot during its time in history, and yet is still stands strong today with so many different changes. It was attacked during the year of 164, besieged in 1642, and it was damaged in a severe fire in 1871. It has survived so many changes and it is well respected because of it. The Warwick Castle remained the private home of the Earls of Warwick until 1978, and then the Greville Family claimed it as their home.

Warwick Castle

Back in 1068, William the Conqueror built the Warwick Castle. As the name suggests, the castle is based in Warwick, which is in Warwickshire. It overlooks part of the Avon river, at a bend. The castle has been used for fortification, but this was stopped in early 17th century as Sir Fulke Greville it got converted into a country house. The grounds were also made into a garden.

If this castle seems to fit the bill, it might please you to know that its easy to get to from major British cities like London and Birmingham. It’s just shy of two miles travel from the 15th junction on the M40. It’s very well signposted (as you’d expect for a tourist attraction like Warwick Castle) so you shouldn’t have a huge amount of difficulty getting there.

Throughout the summer (21st of July to the 2nd of September), the castle hosts a jousting event, allowing you to watch various jousters compete in tournaments. They take place every day at 12:30pm and 3:30pm.

Of course its right next to the River Avon, so you could always get a boat trip along the river, which would allow you to see the castle in all it’s glory on the outside, as well as getting to go on a exciting river trip. And why not wander around Warick? There’s the Collegiate Church of St Mary, Hill Close Gardens and St Nicholas Park to see!
