In the lower part of Lake Zurich (it is callud the Zürichsee to the locals) is a wonderful and fabulous collection of gardens and parks, which is known to all around as Lake Promenade. If you like taking pictures, you are in luck. This place is a photographers paradise. On warm sunny days, the lake is filled with beautiful boats, and the banks of the lake are normally being enjoyed by people picnicking and basking in the sun. Joggers and runners have chosen this area as one of their favorite destinations, so you will always be entertained watching the people jogging by in colorful outfits.

Zurich Toy Museum

The Spieglzeugmuseum is the local name for the Zurich Toy Museum. This museum might not be large but it is extremely popular and is a great way to spend a few hours on your trip to Zurich. It is located in an area called Kreis 1, and it is located on the 5th floor of a townhouse (how quaint). This museum is fascinating because it displays toys and playthings of children for a time span of 200 years (from the 18th to the 20th centuries) Admission is free, and the museum hours are from Monday to Saturday. Do not forget to drop by this place, you will be glad you did.

Zoological Gardens (also known as Zoologischer Garten)

This zoo is a great way to spend an afternoon or even a day in Zurich, and you can even bring the kids without worrying about them complaining. The Zurich Zoo is listed in many travel guides as one of the top Zoos in the world, and certainly in Europe. There are more than 2,000 different animals that come from a wide geographical mix. There is a petting zoo to keep the children occupied also. The admission price for the zoo is a bit high, but those who have visited it find the experience well worth the price. Don’t forget to stop by the world famous Zurich Zoo.

Zurich is a fascinating “old world” destination with activities that are suitable for historians, romantics, artists, and outdoor enthusiasts.
